Wolves Wellness Center

It is with honor and excitement that the Genesee School District and Mott Children’s Health Center announce a partnership to develop a local community-based health care center located in the Genesee School building.

Mott Children’s Health Center is excited to provide needed health care services and education to support the families and children of Genesee. As an extension of Mott Children’s Health Center, the center will provide access to a vast array of services addressing medical, emotional, and educational needs. The services provided will be identified through the guidance of a Community Advisory Council, CAC, comprised of parents, school officials, community leaders, and students.

The center will be open year-round, 5 days a week, with 24/7 access to MCHC medical staff. Services are available to all children from ages 0 to 21 in the community. The Health and Wellness Center will decrease barriers associated with access to medical care and keep children healthy, in school, and promote overall community health. Families utilizing the center as a primary care medical home eliminate the need of taking children out of school for care and address transportation concerns.

It is staffed by a medical provider, a licensed mental health specialist, and a medical assistant. MCHC will provide physicals, vaccinations, and checkups. This health center will have the ability to make appointments as well as treat walk-ins or emergent issues. The MCHC staff will be engaged in school and community activities. The MCHC Health Center will participate in school activities, fund raisers, and be an intrinsic part of the community.

Primary funding is supplied by a grant awarded by the state (MDHHS) and supplemented by Mott Children’s Health Center and Genesee School District. Additional funding will come from insurance billing. Patients and families will not incur any out-of-pocket expenses for services. MCHC has an insurance specialist that will assist families with insurance enrollment.

We look forward to working with the Genesee School staff, parents, and community partners to provide care and services designed to promote overall health.
