Genesee School District Schools of Choice: April 7, 2025 - August 15, 2025

Schools of Choice Enrollment Guidelines

The Genesee School District is accepting applications for enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year for students who do not reside within the district’s boundaries pursuant to Section 105 and 105C of the State Aid Act. There are openings in all grade levels K-12 for the 2025-2026 school year.

Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. This includes out of district Pineview Residents.

MHSAA transfer rules apply.

Students are not charged tuition, and they do not need a release from their resident district if accepted for enrollment in Genesee School District under the Section 105/105C program.

A Schools of Choice application will NOT be accepted without a copy of a behavior / disciplinary report from each of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years or a document from the school(s) attended in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, indicating there is no behavior / discipline for the student. 

All reports will be confirmed. If the parent does not provide the entire copy, this is an automatic denial. 

Genesee School District may deny enrollment to a nonresident applicant if any of the following applies:

• The applicant has been, within the preceding two years, suspended for any reason from another school.

• The Applicant has discipline within the preceding two years that the Superintendent feels is grounds for denial.

• The applicant has been expelled or withdrawn in lieu of expulsion from another district. 

• The applicant has been convicted of a felony.

All Student Code of Conduct rules, procedures, and policies will apply to all students who enter Genesee School District under the Schools of Choice program.

Applications may be obtained at the Genesee School District Administration Office or online at www.geneseeschools.org.

This application and the student’s BEHAVIOR / DISCIPLINE REPORT for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years must be returned by the 3pm on August 15, 2025, deadline to:
